The hardships faced by pioneer ancestors, especially those who arrived by handcart, are being celebrated in Davis County this week. The Handcart Days parade took place in Bountiful yesterday, while the Days of ë47 Parade was set for today, the anniversary of the arrival of the Mormon pioneers on July 24, 1847. This scene of handcart pioneers crossing the plains was reenacted above by youth of the Bountiful Val Verda LDS Stake during a recent trek experience.
