Serving oneís country can be a sacrifice, and for deployed servicemen and women, bills piling up at home can also be a hardship. The Kaysville City Council thinks maybe itís time to give these folks a financial break by paying for some of their utilities.##M:MORE##

The council has directed city staff to explore options for subsidizing utility costs for Kaysville citizens who are deployed overseas. According to Councilmember Steve Hiatt, who originally introduced the idea, there is a ìgood portion of our neighboring cities who help those who have been deployed.î

While council members agree such a program is a worthy cause, more study is needed. They want to have a clear understanding of how such a program would affect city finances.
