Centerville resident Paul T. Smith will offer a series of lectures on the history of the LDS Temple Quarry beginning Wednesday night, June 11 at 7 p.m. at the quarry at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Smith, a retired teacher with the Church Education System, has offered these classes for 16 years. He uses replicas of the quarry tools and historic photos during the hour-long lecture.

The series, which is free to the public, runs through the third week of August.

Those interested should take I-215 to the 6200 South canyons exit and continue east to the mouth of the canyon, where signs will lead participants to the site.
