In conjunction with the open house, the agency is sponsoring its annual coloring contest for children ages 5-9. The winner of the contest will be named “Fire Chief of the Day,”

Applications were sent out to elementary schools throughout the area the fire agency serves, and in the Clipper on Page B4.

Parents are ask to provide information on the form, have their children color the picture and return it to the fire station by Oct. 1 at 5 p.m. South Davis Metro Fire Agency, P.O. Box 1547, Bountiful, Utah, 84011.

As fire chief for the day, the coloring contest winner will be picked up in a fire engine at their home, the winner will then meet with SDMFA Chief Jim Rampton for a presentation and be part of a training session with the duty crew, tour all of the station and have dinner with the on-duty crew.
