SALT LAKE CITY — Over the next month, high school students across the county and state have a chance to design T-shirts for the Utah Capitol Store.

The store is looking for a design that reflects the Utah State Capitol or pieces of art on Capitol Hill. Representatives from the store said they encourage students to take a tour of Capitol Hill for ideas and create something that represents, signifies and symbolizes to them what the Capitol itself represents.

“I am excited the students of Utah will have an opportunity to express their creative ideas through art reflecting Utah’s great historical icon,” said Director of Communication and Visitor Services Allyson Gamble. “Visitors can bring home a little piece of Utah through the eyes of one of your youth.”

The contest will be open until Friday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. Entries must be postmarked, e-mailed or hand delivered by that time. The design should be submitted in a PDF file, as a digital image or hand-drawn.

Four winners will then be chosen and their designs will be used in the Utah Capitol Store.

Those winners will also receive a free t-shirt of their design and a featured press conference at the Utah State Capitol.
