CLEARFIELD — The University of Phoenix is offering 30 full-tuition Pay it Forward scholarships, open to alumni across the nation, for use by family, friends or colleagues. Deadline is Oct. 18.

“In a down economy, hundreds return to college to protect their jobs,” said a representative from the university. With about 18,000 Utah alumni of the school, alumni can nominate a family member, friend or colleague or a deserving Utah resident as a potential scholarship recipient.

In 2007, four of the 30 national scholarships went to Utahns. Though the Clearfield campus is the school’s only Davis County location, the University of Phoenix also has campuses in Pleasant Grove, Taylorsville, St. George, and Salt Lake City.
