A more primal look at childhood is brought lyrically and minutely to life in Spike Jonze’s latest movie, “Where the Wild Things Are,” which is about as faithful an adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s well-loved but equally fierce book as is probably possible. Both celebrate the more primal aspects of being young, from the joy that can be found in a “wild rumpus” to the fact that your mother will still give you a warm dinner even if you don’t say you’re sorry.
