Editor:

I write this letter as a humble plea to the U.S. Senators in the South and in the West: please, remember your state rights. Recall how in the past the conservative Southern Democrats stood up against the Federal Gov’t intervention into the rights of the states; they have often moderated the extremist positions of liberal politicians, and at times have been more conservative than the Republicans. And, in the West, you senators, even as in the Sagebrush Rebellion, resist the current tide of having the Federal Gov’t take care of the individual citizens and the lands within the states.

Please, senators stand up for your state, not your party. Defeat the Federal Health Care and the Cap and Trade programs. You are the hope of this and future generations!

Don Olson, Bountiful
