LAYTON — H1N1 vaccination clinics are now open to the general public in Davis County.

The vaccine is free but tickets are required.

The clinic will be open on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. at the Davis Conference Center, 800 W. Heritage Park Blvd in Layton. Available tickets will be handed out beginning at 10 a.m.

The number of people in the targeted populations requesting the vaccine has declined, Davis County health official said. As a result, the health department is able to make the vaccine more widely available.

Those in a targeted population who have not received the vaccine are still be encouraged to get vaccinated. Those groups include pregnant women, household contacts or caregivers of a child younger than 6 months, people 6 months to 24 years of age, health care or emergency medical services workers and anyone ages 25-64 who has a chronic medical condition.

Additional clinics will be scheduled later. Call the county’s flu information line at 801-451-3333 for updated information or at the flu information website at www.daviscountyutah.gov/flu.
