NORTH SALT LAKE — Reading Horizons’ Lemons for Literacy program took a free software package to Michael Dayton in Nevada, who was diagnosed with dyslexia.

Lemons for Literacy is a donation program. Dayton’s software program was donated specifically to help with dyslexia. Dayton was diagnosed with dyslexia more than 30 years ago. He has worked to improve his reading skills. The program Dayton was given focuses on a multi-sensory approach to reading.

Reading Horizons encourages others to be involved with the Lemons for Literacy program. Residents can go online to http://www.readinghorizonsathome.com/lemonsforliteracy and play a game to help donate. In the game, every time players correctly match terms, a lemon is squeezed. The amount Reading Horizons donates increases with each lemon.

Currently, the program is spotlighting two girls in Pennsylvania. Each player can help donate by playing Lemons for Literacy online. The two girls in Pennsylvania struggle with learning disabilities. Both have high aspirations and are trying to improve themselves.

For more information on the program or the current spotlight, visit Reading Horizons’ website.
