Show entries still open

The 2010 Exhibit Schedule at Bountiful/Davis Art Center (BDAC) will open with Illustration Utah! Exhibit and Competition beginning on Jan. 15. This year the exhibit will be a juried competition with entry fees and cash awards. All Utah Illustrators can submit work that was created or published during 2008-2009 and not previously displayed at Bountiful/Davis Art Center.

Artwork will be accepted January 4-8 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the BDAC (745 So. Main Street in Bountiful). The cost is $10 per entry with up to three entries allowed per artist.

Spalenka to speak

There will be a special presentation by world renowned artist/illustrator Greg Spalenka on Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. at Bountiful/Davis Art Center (an awards ceremony will be held first). His international client list includes Time, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, and the New Yorker. He has won numerous awards including gold and silver medals from the New York and Los Angeles Society of Illustrators.

His presentation, supported by BYU and others, will be about illustration and current trends in the field and learning about yourself as an artist.
