The 41-year-old Republican from Syracuse was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail and later released. Killpack has been serving in the Senate since 2003.
The Republican Party will meet on Saturday, Jan. 23 to nominate a replacement. Applications for the seat will be accepted until Friday, Jan. 22 at 4 p.m.
