On the boys’ side, the team has been ranked as high as number three in the state this season and is looking to come away with a region title.
“I am really excited for my boys this year,” said Coach Kim Austin. “It has been a long time since we have been region title contenders.”
The teams will be out in Tooele on Saturday to take on their region foes.
“We should have all the other teams down there,” said Austin. “Should be competitive.”
With the team’s hard work, several state records have fallen this year. And Austin hopes that hard work and success can translate into a region title.
“The boys are deep,” said Austin. “We have a great chance to compete. It has been 27 years since we have won a region title, it would be great to get one this year.”
The Bountiful girls will also be competing in the region event. They have worked hard this season and are looking to make some noise in the competition.
After region, the teams will move on to the state competition, where anything can happen.
