CLEARFIELD — Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, Jr. was due to have visited a mammoth facility in China owned by Lifetime Products, based in Clearfield.

The now-U.S. ambassador to China was to visit a 1.7 million-square-foot wholly owned and operated manufacturing facility in Xiamen, Fuijan, China.

Lifetime Products’ President Richard Hendrickson and CFO Mark Whiting were due to be on hand to greet the former governor.

“We believe Lifetime Products is a true leader in demonstrating how American-based companies can successfully manage manufacturing facilities in both the U.S. and foreign countries to best meet the needs of consumers,” said Hendrickson. “Showing Huntsman our facility will help strengthen the relationships and foundations needed to pave the way to ensure continued mutually-beneficial success in international commerce.”

The state-of-the-art blow-molding and metal facility was designed using the decades of experience Lifetime gained by manufacturing residential basketball hoops, blow-molded folding tables and chairs, and more, in Utah for more than 23 years, a press release said.
