Sept. 3, 1953-Nov. 6, 2008

Joseph Taylor Dixon III, age 55, passed away on November 6, 2008, following a brief illness. He began life in San Diego, California as a “Navy Brat” on September 3, 1953. His parents were Joseph T. Dixon Jr. and Ruth Mae Verde, both of Salt Lake City. Joe settled in Bountiful following his Mom’s death in 1967. He graduated from Viewmont High School, married briefly and had one son, Brandon Dixon. Joe was an avid auto mechanic gun and coin collector. He loved music, fast cars, and animals, especially his furry canine loves, Bonnie and Clyde.

Joe is preceded in death by his father, JT Dixon Jr., mother , Ruth Verde Dixon and brother, Daniel McNair Dixon, as well as his grandparents, several aunts and uncles on both the Verde and Dixon sides.

Joe is survived by his sister, Victoria (Vickie) Dixon Pence, Birmingham, AL; his son, Brandon Dixon; uncles, Marlo, Chuck and Robert Verde; aunts, Joy and Bonnie, as well as his “special love” Edna Coulson. He also has three granddaughters, Brandi, Brianne and Taylor who adored him, and his treasured loves Bonnie and Clyde.

Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His intelligence and “big heart” will live on in his friends and families’ lives.

A private memorial service, where his life will be remembered and celebrated, by those who loved him, will be held.
