KAYSVILLE — Davis Chamber of Commerce members have three upcoming events to mark on their calendar.

The February membership luncheon was scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18 at 11:30 a.m. for mingle, noon for actual membership luncheon at The Castle, 930 W. Antelope Drive, Layton. Chamber president and CEO Jim Smith will be the speaker.

Two other major upcoming events are the annual Northern Utah Business and Economic Summit and the Business to Business Expo.

The summit will be held Wednesday, March 17, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Weber State University Davis.

Keynote speaker is Dell Brown, president of MonaVie, which won first place in the Utah Top 100 Businesses sponsored by Mountain West Capital Network.

According to Chamber CEO Smith, the award recognizes Utah’s high growth companies. However, it measures performance over five years to eliminate any “flash in the pan” performers.

Breakout sessions cover a variety of topics, from “Women in Business” with LeeAnn Linderman of Zions Bank, “How to Survive in Today’s Economy” by Brad Wilson, CEO of Destination Homes, and a debriefing of the 2010 Legislature Session from a panel of Davis County legislators.

“Davis County’s Economic Outlook” will be provided by Dr. Lewis Gale, chair of the Weber State University economics department.

“Rapid fire” presentations will provide information about local business resources, and will cover five minutes each.

Ron McBride, Weber State’s football coach, will be the luncheon speaker.

Cost is $95 per person or $165 for two. Non-chamber members are charged $125 and $225. Save $10 by signing up by March 1.

The annual Business to Business Expo is set for April 22 at the Davis Conference Center.

“What is exciting this year is the way the (event) committee is moving forward to increase traffic for our booth sponsors,” Smith said. “We have scheduled a very high profile, nationally-recognized speaker to kick off the event at 2 p.m.,” with the expo running until 7 p.m.

There is room for 95 booths of various sizes with about a dozen already reserved, he said.

Event sponsors are being sought for $1,000, premium sponsors for $285, or booth sponsors for $165, for chamber members. Non-chamber members pay more.

More details about this event will be provided later. For more information, call 801-593-2200.
