Woods Cross and Highland used the inside-outside game to battle back and forth until the Rams looked as it they would take the lead into the halftime break.
Woods Cross had other ideas.
The Wildcats used back to back three pointers by Ryan Anderson and Parker Rose at the end of the first half to turn a 20-16 deficit into a 22-20 lead at the break.
In the third quarter, Highland took a 35-31 lead but the Wildcats fought back and came within one possession before the Rams put the hometown team away for good.
The loss drops Woods Cross to fourth in Region 6, but the Wildcats still have the chance for a home game Saturday night.
The opponent was not certain at press time.
“The season is far from over either way,” said Woods Cross coach Todd Street before the game began.
“We have to come out and play with intensity for a full 48 minutes and when we do that good things happen.”
Street was forced to sit the Highland game out due to a one game suspension after being ejected during the Wildcats’ loss to Olympus Friday.
Anderson and Mark Evans played big games Tuesday for Woods Cross as each finished with 12 points.
Austin Bankowski picked up seven points.
