Recently it has come to the attention of voters in Bountiful that if they are registered as an Independent that they cannot vote in the Republican Primary. This is a very important election as candidates are running to replace Bob Bennett’s seat and Sheryl Allen’s seat. If you are registered as an Independent and wish to vote in the June 22 Republican Primary you have to re-register as a Republican. This can be done by forms found at the library, post office or online, but needs to be done prior to May 22 to be able to vote. Information regarding candidates Mike Lee, attorney vs Tim Bridgewater, businessman for Bennett’s seat can be found on the Internet; as well, information can be found on the Internet for Jim Nielson, businessman and son of former Senator Howard Nielson vs Ben Horsley, Communication Spokesperson for Granite School District, both running for Sheryl Allen’s seat.
