Thanks to the over 1,200 volunteers who made Handcart Days possible. Without volunteers, Handcart Days could not take place.  These unselfish people who gave countless hours of service made it possible to hold the Parade, the activities at Bountiful Park, and the Arts and Crafts Exhibit.  Their service has made a lot of people very happy. 

Before the parade, we chatted with Governor Herbert and asked him if he had a few words for our volunteers. 

He said with feeling,   “Convey my thanks to all the volunteers of Bountiful Handcart Days. Utah is number one in the nation in volunteerism. More than 50 percent of the population volunteers in some way.  People in other states are taking note of Utah!”
