Broadview students lobby in D.C.

DAVIS COUNTY — Two students from Davis County joined seven of their peers from Broadview University at a recent rally in Washington, D.C. Melissa Stowell and Marissa Graves participated with 2,500 other career college students to express support of their decision to choose career education.

Students heard from members of Congress on the opportunities and challenges facing private sector colleges and universities. Broadview University students also met with Utah’s representatives to express their concerns.

The message that they and other members delivered was the importance of preserving choice in education and occupation and the message that legislatures should not interfere.

Students came from 50 colleges to share their views.

Broadview University was established in 1977 in Salt Lake City and offers classes in business, health sciences, information technology, legal sciences and entertainment arts. The university has a campus in Layton and other communities, and offers online courses.
